In 2005, Darwin headed the Animalization Ray Project, creating a weapon capable of turning children into animals. After testing the weapon on a solo operative, Darwin found the results to align with descriptions of Malladus.

As a scientist, Darwin is directly responsible for the creation of some of the weapons used against the KND. He is, however, religious, or at least accepts religion as fact, believing in hell and wishing to learn more about Malladus.
